Guins Rebound With Win Over Chicago State

The Youngstown State men's tennis team picked up a 5-2 win over Chicago State on Friday afternoon at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
The Penguins (10-9 overall and 4-1 in the Horizon League) won a hard-fought doubles point before picking up wins in four singles matches.
In doubles, Laurentiu Mandocescu and Harry Fouzas earned an impressive 6-3 win at No. 3. The other two matches went the distance and needed tiebreakers. YSU claimed the point as Will Everett and David Alvarez Moreno won 7-6 (3) at No. 2 while the other match was tied 6-6.
In singles, Moreno, Javi Gonazlez Pla, Harry Fouzas and Clement Mainguy followed with victories.
At No. 3, Mainguy earned a 6-2, 6-3 win. At No. 4, Fouzas claimed a 6-2, 6-4 triumph. At No. 5, Gonzalez Pla cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win while at No. 6, Moreno won convincingly, 6-0, 6-1.
The Cougars picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles for their points.
The Penguins are next in action on April 15 when they travel to IUPUI.
