Penguins Head to Cleveland, Host Chicago State This Week

The Youngstown State men's tennis team visits rival Cleveland State on Thursday before returning home to face Chicago State for the second time this week.
In Cleveland at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion, the Penguins and Vikings each take 3-0 Horizon League marks into the contest. YSU enters the contest with a 9-8 overall mark while CSU is 15-6 overall and has won eight of nine home contests.
The Guins defeated Chicago State on Sunday and will face the Cougars again on Friday afternoon. First serve at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center is set for 3 p.m. following the YSU women's match vs. Milwaukee.
Last season, the Penguins beat Cleveland State twice en route to earning their first-ever Horizon League regular-season title. YSU won 4-3 at home and picked up a 5-2 win at the MMTP.
Last week at Chicago State, Javi Gonzalez Pla, David Alvarez Moreno and Laurentiu Mandocescu picked up singles wins. YSU swept all three matches against the Cougars to take the doubles point.
