Hunt, Williams-Matthews Garner Under Armour #HLTF Athlete Honors

Youngstown State's Tye Hunt and Nia Williams-Matthews were named the Horizon League's Under Armour Men's Field Athlete and Women's Field Athlete of the Week following their performance at the season-opening YSU Icebreaker this past Friday in WATTS.
Hunt set a school record in the long jump with an impressive mark of 8.08m. After the first weekend of the college season, Hunt's mark leads the nation by 0.43m (7.65m is the closest athlete). Hunt won the YSU Icebreaker in the event and crushed his school record which was 7.74m that he set last December. The jump set a meet and facility record as well.
Williams-Matthews placed first in the triple jump and was ninth in the long jump at the YSU Icebreaker. In the triple jump, she won with a performance of 12.26m and in the long jump she had a leap of 5.42m.
The Penguins return to action following the winter break when they are set to compete at the Penn State Nittany Lion Challenge and the Kent State Jud Logan Memorial Invitational on Jan. 13.
