Penguins Announce 2024 Spring Dual Match Schedule

The Youngstown State men's tennis team will play a 21-match dual schedule this spring that will include trips to eight different states and have the Guins in action at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center on 10 occasions.
YSU is under the direction for first-year Head Coach Kody Duncan who took over the program in October.
The Penguins will be busy before league play starts at the end of March.
YSU opens the spring season on Jan. 20 when it plays the first of three home matches to begin the dual season campaign. On Jan. 20, the Guins face Binghamton then entertain Butler (Jan. 26) and Georgetown (Jan. 28).
In early February, the Penguins travel to eastern Nebraska for a pair of dual contests. On Feb. 2 the Guins visit Creighton and then close out their trip to Nebraska with a contest on Feb. 3 vs. Omaha.
The next weekend features a trip east as YSU will travel to William & Mary on Feb. 9 before visiting Navy on Feb. 10.
The Penguins return home to face Northern Illinois on Feb. 16 and take on Xavier at home on Feb. 18. In early March, YSU heads to Tennessee for three matches in three days as it takes on Lipscomb (March 6), Troy (March 7) and Tennessee Tech (March 8). The contest vs. the Trojans is a neutral site contest being played in Clarksville, Tenn.
YSU's final non-league match of the year is a home contest against Duquesne on March 16.
For the second straight year, the Horizon League North Division's schedule will feature home-and-home matches giving the schools a total of eight conference contests. YSU will face Chicago State, Cleveland State, Northern Kentucky and IUPUI at home and away.
The Penguins open Horizon League play on March 22 against Cleveland State before taking on Chicago State on March 23 at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center. YSU's next three conference matches are on the road against IUPUI, Northern Kentucky and Chicago State. The final home duals are April 13 against IUPUI and April 14 vs. Northern Kentucky. The regular season concludes on April 20 at Cleveland State.
The Horizon League Championships are set for April 26-28 in West Lafayette, Ind., Purdue's Schwartz Tennis Center.
Once again the North Division will face the South Division – Belmont, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, Southern Indiana, Lindenwood and Eastern Illinois – at the league tournament.
