Last Time Out
Youngstown State is coming off a 75-68 win over Utah Tech on Nov. 17. Senior DJ Burns posted his third double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Jaylen Bates and Bryson Langdon each scored 12 points and Brandon Rush added 11 points. 

Series vs. Lake Erie
This is the first meeting between Youngstown State and Lake Erie.

Scouting Lake Erie
Lake Erie has an overall record of 1-2 and hosts Utah Tech on Nov. 18. Leading the Storm is Johnny Manning with 19 points per game and Jacob Plantz with 12.7 points per game. Former Penguin Josh Irwin (2021-23) is averaging 7.7 points per game. Lake Erie Assistant Coach Bobby Hain played at Youngstown State from 2012-16.

Bates Makes Impact
Senior Jaylen Bates made a big impact in the Penguins' 75- 68 wn over Utah Tech. Bates reached double figures for the first time this season with a season-high 12 points..He scored all of his points in the second half, including a pair of 3-pointers and six free throws.

Rush Nearly Makes History
Youngstown State fifth-year senior Brandon Rush buried 10 3-pointers in the Penguins 99-71 win over Ohio Christian. He is just the second player in school history to make at least 10 3s in a game and the first to do so since Mike Alcorn set the school record with 11 on Feb. 24, 1992.  

Double-Double Trouble
Senior DJ Burns has been a force on the boards and scoring the ball this season. In his first four games at Youngstown State, Burns has record three double-doubles. He had 13 points and 11 rebounds at Louisiana and 17 points and 11 rebounds against Ohio Christian. Most recently, he posted 16 points

Penguin Portal Success
Over the last two seasons, Youngstown State has flourished during the transfer portal era. The Penguins own a record of 45-27 over the past two-plus campaigns, and produced five all-conference selections. Youngstown State has been tough to beat at home over the last two years posting a 29-10 mark.

Langdon Nearing Marks
Fifth-year senior Bryson Langdon is approaching a couple of career milestones. The Chicago, Ill., native has scored 751 career points and dished out 341 career assists. He needs just 249 points to reach 1,000 for his career and 59 more assists for 400.

Youngstown State is one of 11 teams with multiple players listed at 7-0 or taller. Freshman Gabe Dynes stands at 7-3 while sophomore Imanuel Zorgvol is last at 7-0.
