Last Time Out
Youngstown State is coming off a 73-63 comeback victory over Detroit Mercy on Jan. 29. Dwayne Cohill led the Penguins with 20 points while Adrian Nelson posted his ninth double-double of the year with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Bryce McBride added 14 points and five assists.

Scouting Wright State
Wright State enters the game with a 13-10 overall record and a 6-6 mark in the Horizon League. Trey Calvin leads the Raiders with 19.1 points per game while Brandon Noel is averaging 12.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. The Raiders are averaging 80 points per game.

The Wright State Series
This is the 67th meeting between Youngstown State and Wright State in a series that dates back to 1977.  Wright State owns a 50-16 advantage in the all-time series, but the Penguins have won four of the last six contests. Youngstown State defeated Wright State, 88-77, on Dec. 4 at the Nutter Center and have won the last two meetings at Beeghly Center.

Last Time vs. Wright State
Senior Dwayne Cohill scored a career-high 43 points to lead the Youngstown State men's basketball team to an 88-77 road victory at Wright State on Dec. 4 at the Nutter Center.  Cohill became the first Youngstown State player to score at least 40 points since 2020, and his 43 points were the most since Cameron Morse scored 44 against UIC in 2017. It was also the fifth-most points in a single game in Youngstown State's Division I era. Graduate Malek Green just missed a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds while senior Bryce McBride added 12 points with four steals off the bench.

A Win Would...

• Improve YSU's record to 18-6 and match the Penguins' best record after 24 games since going 18-6 in 1997-98.
• Mark just the second time since 1981-82 YSU has started with at least 18 wins through 24 games.
• Give the Penguins a 10-3 record in Horizon League play for the first time in program history and a 6-1 mark in home conference games.
• Mark the second straight win over the Raiders, the fifth in the last seven games, and the third straight at Beeghly Center
• Be YSU's 17th win over Wright State and the 12th at Beeghly Center. 
• Improve the Penguins' record to 10-2 at home and mark the fourth straight season with at least 10 home victories.
• Be the 214th in Head Coach Jerrod Calhoun's career and his 90th at Youngstown State.
• Make Jerrod Calhoun the third coach in school history to record at least 90 wins.
• Be Jerrod Calhoun's fifth win over Wright State.

AD Nearing 1,000-1,000 Club
Graduate student Adrian Nelson is approaching a very special club. Nelson is approaching 1,000-point and 1,000-rebound plateaus for his college career. He has 942 career rebounds and 911 career points and needs just 58 more boards and 89 more points to reach each feat.

200 3's
Youngstown State has made 199 3-pointers this season and needs one more to reach 200 3s made for the 12th consecutive full season. The Penguins also  made 186 in the COVID-shortened 2020-21 season. The streak started in 2010-11 when the Penguins made 235 3-pointers. 

Most Efficient
As of Jan. 31, Youngstown State ranks second in the nation in team offensive efficiency rating, per teamrankings.com. The Penguins ranked second with 1.142 points per possession, just behind Toledo's 1.145. Over the last three games, the Penguins offensive efficiency was 1.112 points per possession. The Penguins also own a 1.183 points per possession at Beeghly Center.
