Penguins Place 173 Student-Athletes on Horizon League Honor Roll

Youngstown State had 173 student-athletes earn Horizon League academic honor roll distinction for the spring 2022 semester. A total of 1,440 student-athletes from all 12 member institutions and 19 Horizon League sponsored sports were represented.
Milwaukee led the list with 174 student-athletes on the academic honor roll while YSU was second with 173 and Oakland was third with 157. Candidates for the Honor Roll must meet three criteria in order to qualify: 1) Participation in at least one of the League's 19 sports during the most recent (or current) season. 2) Completion of three semesters (or four quarters, where applicable) as a full-time student at the same member institution. 3) A cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale). With 200 student-athletes on the honor roll, Women's cross country/track & field had the highest representation of the League's sports. Women's soccer and men's cross country/track & field round out the top-three with 198 and 142 honorees, respectively.
