Three Penguins Earn Academic All-Horizon League Honors

Youngstown State's Olivia Wilcox and Mallory Pitstick were named Academic All-Horizon League while Kayla Wrasman earned honorable-mention all-academic accolades the league announced on Tuesday.
A total of 37 student-athletes earned the honor of being named to the men's and women's swimming and diving all-academic Teams, while ten more were tabbed for the Honorable Mention Teams. Faculty Athletic Representatives from member institutions voted for these awards.
Pitstick is a senior with a 3.86 GPA in Marketing Management. At the Horizon League Championships she finished 11th in the 400 IM with a time of 4:37.68. At the Horizon League Championships she was 12th in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:22.88. Her IM times at the league meet were career bests and rank in the top eight in school history.
Wilcox is a junior with a 3.79 GPA in Business Administration. At the Horizon League Championships finished 10th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.92 seconds. Also at the Horizon League Championships she was 19th with a time of 2:09.39 in the 200 backstroke. During the year, Wilcox had school top-five times in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke in 2021-22.
Wrasman, a senior, owns a 3.59 GPA in Nursing. At the Horizon League Championships, she placed a career-best seventh in the one-meter dive with a score of 248.35. Also at the Horizon League Championships shre finished ninth in the three-meter dive with a score of 230.20. She was a first-time qualifier for the Zone C NCAA Diving Championships.
The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with seasonal Academic All-League Teams in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible for Horizon League All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale), have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits, and participate in 50 percent of the team's overall contests.
