Youngstown State returns home for the first time since Nov. 15 and begins a three-game homestand as it hosts Westminster, Thursday, Dec. 8. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Beeghly Center and the game will be broadcast on 570 WKBN and ESPN+.

Strong Start
The Penguins, who have won two of their last three games, seeks its second straight 7-3 start through 10 games. It would also be just the third 7-3 start since 2013-14.
The Westminster Series
This is the 53rd meeting between Youngstown State and Westminster in a series that dates back to 1928. Westminster leads the all-time series, 29-23, but the Penguins have won the last six contests. Last season, YSU defeated Westminster, 83-54, at Beeghly Center. The last Westminster victory was a 68-61 win 1981.
Scouting Westminster
Westminster enters the game with an overall record of 6-1 and has won its last two contests. Andrew Clark leads four players scoring in double figures with 17.7 points per game. Reese Leone, Austin O'Hara and Payton Mele are also in double figures with 12.9, 12.3 and 12.3 points per game respectively.

Last Time Out
The Penguins split a pair of Horizon League games last week, falling in double overtime to Northern Kentucky, 77-73 and defeating Wright State 88-77.Â
Senior Dwayne Cohill scored a career-high 43 points against Wright State and shot 16-for-19 from the field with six 3-pointers. His 43 points are the most scored by a Penguins player since Cameron Morse had 44 against UIC in 2017, and it ranks fifth on the YSU Division I single-game scoring list.
Cohill Player of the Week
Senior Dwayne Cohill was named the Nike Horizon League Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced on Dec. 5. This is the second career weekly award for Cohill. He was named co-Player of the Week on Dec. 13, 2021. Cohill led the Penguins to a 1-1 road record last week after averaging 32 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. He shot 71.0 percent (22-for-31) from the field, 72.7 percent (8-for-11) from 3-point range and 92.3 percent (12-for-13) from the free-throw line. Cohill was phenomenal in the Penguins 88-77 win over Wright State on Sunday at the Nutter Center. He scored a career-high 43 points on 16-of-19 shooting from the floor with four rebounds, two assist and two steals. He also went 6-for-6 from 3-point range and 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. Cohill scored 30 points and went 11-for-11 from the field in the second half against the Raiders. His 43 points are the most by a YSU player since Cameron Morse's 44 points against UIC in 2017. It also ranks fifth on the YSU Division I single-game scoring list. He scored 21 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the floor with two 3-pointers and making 7-of-8 from the free-throw line against Northern Kentucky. He also had three rebounds, three assists and two steals against the Norse.Â
AD Domination
Graduate Adrian Nelson has been dominant for the Penguins over the first nine games of the season. He ranks third on the team in scoring and leads the team in rebounding and is third in field-goal percentage. He has scored in double figures in eight of nine gams and ranks third nationally with five double-doubles. Â He is 13th in the league in scoring at 13.8 ppg, second in rebounding at 9.3 rpg and fifth with a .533 field-goal percentage. Nelson also reached the 800 career rebound mark with 11 boards against Western Illinois on Nov. 26 and has 815 for his career.
DC Being DC
Senior Dwayne Cohill is picking up where he left off from a season ago. Cohill is averaging 17.9 points and 3.8 assists per game while shooting 60 percent from the field and 60.9 percent from 3-point range. He ranks third in scoring, second in field-goal percentage and eighth in assists per game.
Go for Green
Malek Green, who is in his sixth year, is off to a tremendous start for the Penguins. He has scored in double figures seven times, has three double-doubles and is posting 15.1 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native ranks third in the Horizon League with a .563 field-goal percentage, seventh in scoring and third in rebounding.
Scoring Distribution
Through the first nine games of the season, the Penguins have been scoring the ball pretty evenly. Four different players have led the Penguins in scoring and four are averaging in double figures. Youngstown State also has three players rank in the top 15 in the Horizon League in scoring. Dwayne Cohill is third in the league with 17.9 points per game while Malek Green is seventh at 15.1 points per game and Adrian Nelson is 13th at 13.8 points per game.
Ride with McBride
Senior Bryce McBride turned in one of his best offensive performance of the season with a 12-point effort off of the bench against Wright State. McBride scored 12 points with four steals against the Raiders. He connected on 8-for-8 from the free-throw line and had two field goals. His .964 free-throw percentage is second nationally and second in the Horizon League.
