Indianapolis, Ind. -- For the second time this season and this month, Youngstown State senior Dwayne Cohill has been named the Nike Horizon League Men's Basketball Player of the Wee, the league announced on Monday.
This is the third career weekly award for Cohill after earning the honor on Dec. 5, 2022 and Dec. 13, 2021.
Last week, Cohill led the Penguins to a 1-0 record last week in YSU's 85-81 win over Southern. Cohill scored 26 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor, 3-of-5 from 3-point range and 7-of-9 from the free-throw line. He also added five rebounds, six assists and two steals.
He leads the Horizon League with a .577 field-goal percentage, ranks fourth in the league in scoring with 17.5 points per game, fifth with a .851 free-throw percentage and fifth with 4.3 assists per game.
The Dayton, Ohio, native is also shooting .588 (20-for-34) from 3-point range.
Youngstown State closes out the non-league portion of its slate against Central Michigan, Wednesday, Dec. 21. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. in Mount Pleasant, Mich.
