Kordupel Places Fifth to Pace Penguins at Fairleigh Dickinson Invitational

Bryan Kordupel placed fifth to lead the Youngstown State men's golf team to a sixth-place finish in the Fairleigh Dickinson Invitational on Saturday at Penn National Golf Club in Fayetteville, Pa.
Kordupel finished with a two-round score of 146 (72-74) to earn his second consecutive top-five finish. The junior also tied for third place in the Battle at Rum Pointe last weekend. Kordupel was tied for second place after firing an even-par 72 in the first round of play.
The Penguins posted a two-round score of 615 with rounds of 309 and 306 to finish sixth as a team. YSU was in fourth place after one round of play.
Brian Terlesky earned the best finish of his career as he tied for 10th with a two-round total of 151 (76-75). The sophomore's second-round 75 represents his lowest round of the season.
Cole Christman tied for 22nd with a two-round 155 (77-78) while Dean Austalosh tied for 45th with a 164 (84-80). Derek Miller concluded the event with a two-round 174 (95-79).
Sacred Heart took home the tournament victory after finishing with a two-round team total of 603 (304-299). The Pioneers finished two strokes ahead of Bryant and Robert Morris. St. Francis (Pa.) placed fourth with a 607 while Towson finished fifth with a 608.
Chris Sabol of Robert Morris claimed medalist honors by one stroke with a two-round 144 (72-72).
The Penguins will continue their spring season on April 12-13 with the Dayton Flyer Intercollegiate at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio.
