
Morris Places Second; Penguins Finish Third at OU Golden Grizzly Invitational

Rochester, Mich. - Freshman Reva Morris had another strong showing placing second as the Youngstown State women's golf finished third at the OU Golden Gizzly Invitational which concluded on Tuesday.
Cleveland State won the tournament by one stroke with a two-round score of 637. Oakland was second with a 638 while the Penguins placed third, one shot ahead of Detroit, with a 653. YSU had a 325 on Monday before carding a 328 on Tuesday.
Morris had two-round score of 155 and was just two shots back of Oakland's Kylee Sullivan who won with a 157. On Monday, Morris and Sullivan each had rounds of 76. Morris fired a final-round 79 to finish just behind Sullivan.
Freshman Katlyn Shutt was tied for ninth with a 163. Shutt had rounds of 79 and 84 in the tournament. Christina Cooper finished 12th with a two-round 165. Cooper had scores of 84 and 81 at the event. Senior Mia Barchetti shot an 81 on Tuesday following an opening-round 89 and finished 21st with a 170. Tying Barchetti for 21st with a 170 was junior Courtney Shutt. Shutt had rounds of 86 and 84 at the tournament. Haleigh Guerrero fired a final round 85 and she finished 37th with her 179. Megan Creager was 42nd with a 180 (94-85).
The Penguins return to action on Oct. 10-11 when they play host to the Roseann Schwartz Invitational at the Youngstown Country Club.
