
Emily Dixon Shares Medalist Honors at Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate

Seiverville, Tenn. - Youngstown State senior Emily Dixon shared medalist honors at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate which concluded on Tuesday at the Sevierville Golf Club (Highlands Course). Dixon has now won four tournaments this season and eight in her career.
The Penguins placed fourth out of 12 teams with a three-round total of 964. YSU had a 315 on Sunday, a 325 on Monday and ended the tournament with a 324 on Tuesday. Southern Mississippi won the event with a 931.
Dixon was in second place following an opening round 74 on Sunday. On Monday, her two-round total of 149, one stroke in front of Southern Mississippi's Valentina Haupt. During Tuesday's final round she shot a 79 while Haupt shot a 78 as both golfers finished with 228's.
Dixon has also won the YSU Kickoff, a dual against Niagara and the Golden Grizzlies Invitational. Her eight career tournament/dual wins are a school record.
Freshman Gabby Minor finished 21st with a three-round 243. After one round Minor was tied for sixth with a 76. Minor's two-round score of 156 left her in seventh place following the second round. Minor shot a final-round 87 on Tuesday.
Freshman Megan Creager was 31st with a 250, sophomore Courtney Shutt was 36th with a 251 and senior Emily Rohanna was 54th with a 258. Mia Barchetti was 44th with a 254 golfing as an individual.
The Penguins were in second place following a first round 315. However, the Guins slipped to fourth after a second-round 325.
YSU is next in action on April 9-10 when it competes at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational hosted by Bowling Green.
