
Penguins Continue Action At Horizon League Championships

Rochester, Mich. - The Youngstown State swimming and diving team continued competition at the Horizon League Championships on Friday. Sophomore Viktoria Orosz led the Penguins with a second-place finish in teh 200-yard freestyle.
Orosz finished second in the 200-yard freestyle with a school-record time of 1:48.40. Oakland's Nikki Flynn won the event with a time of 1:47.54. Orosz's previous school-best mark was 1:48.78 established at last year's Horizon League meet.
Also for the Penguins, Hannah Reynolds was eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.25. She set a school record in the prelims clocking a time of 1:04.02 which bested the mark held by Samantha Roberts which was set back in 2011.
To close the night, 400 medley relay had a time of 3:48.63 to finish sixth. The time was just 0.10 seconds behind the school record.
After three days, the Penguins are in seventh place with 223 points. Oakland has a strong lead over the field with 550.5 points heading into the final day.
The final day of action on Saturday features the 1,650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly, 3-Meter Diving and the 400-yard freestyle. relay.
