Penguins Look To Maintain League Lead Against Cleveland State

The Youngstown State women's tennis team will look to remain unbeaten in Horizon League play when the Penguins take on Cleveland State on Friday at the Boardman Tennis Center. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
This will be the first matchup between the school's since they squared off for the Horizon League Championship last April. The Penguins won that match 4-2 to win their first-ever conference title.
YSU enters the match against the Vikings having won its last four matches, including its first three in conference play defeating Wright State, Oakland and Detroit. Overall, the Guins are 10-8 this season.
Cleveland State is 4-11 overall and 2-1 in Horizon League play. In conference action, CSU has defeated Wright State and Oakland.
YSU has won the last four meetings against Cleveland State.
Leading the way has been Marta Burak. Burak was recently named the Horizon League Player of the Week for the second time this year. Entering her senior season she had yet to win the conference award, but has now claimed a pair. In Horizon League play during her career she is 25-1 and has won 20 staright matches dating back to April 2012.
Dominika Lackova is on a four-match win streak as well. In her two years in Horizon League play she is 11-0 playing at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.
Annina Brendel is 12-5 in dual matches this spring for the Guins.
