Penguins Pick Up Pair of Wins Defeating St. Bonaventure, Saint Francis

Boardman - The Youngstown State women's tennis team had a productive day picking up wins over St. Bonaventure and Saint Francis (Pa.) at the Boardman Tennis Center.
YSU won both matches by 5-2 scores to improve to 4-3 on the season.
In the opener, the Penguins picked up the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. In singles, Marta Burak, Dominika Lackova, Annina Brendel and Julianna Heino all picked up wins against the Bonnies.
Burak won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1, Lackova picked up a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 2, Brendel cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 and Heino earned a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5.
In the evening match, the Guins lost the doubles point to Saint Francis before winning all five singles matches that were contested.
Burak won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1, Lackova earned a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 2, Brendel was strong in a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 3, Victoria Ferry posted a 6-2, 6-7, 7-6 win at No. 4 and Heino won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5.
The Penguins return to action on Sunday morning when they play host to NJIT at the Boardman Tennis Center. First serve is set for 8:30 a.m.
