Penguins Finish in Second at Roseann Schwartz Invitational

Warren - The Youngstown State women's golf team finished second at the Roseann Schwartz Invitational which concluded on a beautiful Monday at the Avalon Lakes Golf Course.
Akron won the tournament with an impressive two-day total of 600. The Zips carded a 299 on Monday after a 301 on Sunday. The Penguins finished a two-round total of 624 after a 313 on Monday. YSU carded a 311 for the first round.
Saint Francis (Pa.) was third with a 659 (331-328), IPFW finished fourth with a 660 (322-338) and Niagara was fifth at 692 (348-344).
Leading the way for the Penguins was Emily Dixon who finished fourth with a two-round total of 150. Dixon carded a second-round 77 following an opening round 73.
Finishing in fifth place was Gabby Minor with a 156. Minor had a pair of 78's for the Invite. In seventh was Courtney Shutt who fired a 157. Shutt had an 80 on Monday after firing a 77 on Sunday.
Freshman Christina Cooper finished 12th with a 163. Cooper fired a 78 on Monday after an opening round 85. Mia Barchetti placed 20th with a 170 (84-86), Megan Creager was 24th with a 172 (83-89) and Haleigh Guererro was 26th carding a 177 (89-88). Emily Rohanna carded a 78 for YSU on Monday.
The Penguins are in action next at the MAC Preview on Oct. 11-12 in Noblesville, Ind.
