Guins Continue Early Slate at Tom Stubbs Relays

Bowling Green, Ohio - The Youngstown State swimming and diving team competed at the Tom Stubbs Relays on Friday night. The Penguins swam against Bowling Green, Akron, Oakland and Toledo at the event.
YSU had three top-four finishes in the relay meet which features convention and rare events. Overall 10 relay events were part of the competition.
The best finish by the Penguins was second in the 3x500-yard freestyle as Viktoria Orosz, Megan Stelpflug and Madison Aranda posted a time of 15:37.65.
YSU placed fourth in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 7:47.92 as Orosz, Aranda, Stelpflug and Zsanett Csado competed in the event.
The Guins were also fourth in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 2:24.33 as Kolbrun Jonsdottir, Csado, Orosz and Aranda competed in the swim.
YSU placed sixth in the 3x100-yard backstroke with a time of 3:01.95 as Orosz, Stelpflug and Fisher swam the event. The Penguins were also sixth in the 200-yard freestyle relay posting a time of 1:40.26 behind Csado, Fisher, Jonsdottir and Jana Janson.
Other times for the Penguins were: 1:51.39 in the 200-yard medley relay, 3:00.93 in the 3x100-yard butterfly. 3:36.82 in the 3x100 breaststorke and 4:03.28 in the 400-yard medley relay.
The Penguins play host to Cleveland State on Friday at the Beeghly Natatorium. The meet is set to start at 5 p.m.
