
Penguins Pick Up First Win Beating Bowling Green, 7-0

Perrysburg, Ohio - The Youngstown State women's tennis team picked up it first dual win beating Bowling Green 7-0 on Sunday at the Perrysburg Tennis Center.
The Penguins (1-1) won five of the six matches in straight sets and took two of the three doubles matches against the Falcons (0-2).
YSU dropped its match at No. 1 doubles but Nehel Sahni and Annina Brendel won impressively 6-1 over Leeah Floyd and Emily Witt. At No. 3 doubles, Victoria Ferry and Julianna Heino picked up their first doubles win of the season beating Antonia Farrar and Sydney Seeley by a 6-0 score.
At No. 1 singles, Marta Burak won her third straight match beating Harley Hutchinson 6-2, 6-2. Dominika Lackova picked up a hard-fought three set win over Megan Miller. After winning the first set 6-3, Lackova dropped the second 6-2. She went on to win the match taking the third-set tiebreaker by a narrow 10-8.
At No. 3, Brendel concluded a 2-0 weekend beating Witt 6-1, 6-4. Sahni also picked up her second win of the weekend defeating Floyd 6-2, 6-1. In action at No. 5, Ferry earned the first win of her career beating Farrar by a 6-2, 6-1 score. Like Ferry, Heino won her first career match beating Seeley 6-0, 6-1.
The Penguins return to action next Sunday when they take on IPFW and Ball State in Indiana.
