YSU Returns to the Pool Against Akron

The Youngstown State swimming and diving team returns to the pool for the first time since November when the Penguins play host to Akron on Friday at the Beeghly Natatorium. The dual meet will start at 5 p.m.
YSU (3-3) were last in action at Cleveland State's Magnus Cup Invitational just before Thanksgiving. The Zips (1-2) were last in action in early December when they won their own
Both teams competed against one another at CSU's Magnus Invite in November.
Leading the way for the Penguins so far this season have been freshmen Viktoria Orosz and Madison Aranda.
At the Magnus Invite, Orosz won the 200 and 500-yard freestyle events, placed second in the 1,650 freestyle, was fourth in the 200 IM and sixth in the 100 free. Aranda was second in the 500 free behind Orosz, was fourth in the 100-yard backstroke, fifth in the 1,650, sixth in the 200 butterfly and seventh in the 400-yard IM.
At the meet, Orosz set the school record in the 500 and the 1,650 while Aranda set the mark in the 400-yard IM.
The Penguins dropped a 183-113 decision to the Zips last year. It was the first dual between the programs since 2011.
