2013-14 Swimming and Diving Year in Review

YSU defeated UIC in a dual meet for the first time in school history.
Junior Ashley Dow placed second in the 100-yard backstroke at the HL Championships.
Set records in three of the five relay events at HL Championships (200-yard medley, 200-yard freestyle, 800-yard freestyle).
Sophomore Bec Stafford finished second in the one-meter dive at the HL Championships.
During the year, Dow was a perfect 8-0 in the 100-yard backstrokes in dual meets and lost just one 200-yard event. She also took first in both at the Butler Invitational. Her win in the 200-yard IM helped lead the Guins past UIC.
Jana Janson had a solid performance at the HL Championships. She set the school mark in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly at the league meet. She also had the second-fastest time in school history in the 100-yard freestyle.
YSU had five top-eight finishes at the league meet and 20 in the top 16.
Posted 13 swimming times that rank in the top 10 in school history, three diving scores that ranked in the top seven and all five relays ranked among the best in school history.
