YSU Earns Two Singles Wins in Defeat at Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, Pa. - Margarita Sadovnikova and Dominika Lackova earned wins for the Penguins in a 5-2 defeat to Pittsburgh on Friday afternoon at the Alpha Tennis and Fitness Center.
At No. 1 singles, Margarita Sadovnikova continued her strong start to the spring beating Taylor Washington 6-4, 6-3. Lackova beat Katherine Castro 7-5, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
The Panthers (2-0) won in straight sets at No. 2, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 singles. At No. 2, Marta Burak dropped a 6-2, 6-3 decision, Annina Brendel lost 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3, Nehel Sahni moved up to No. 5, but lost 6-3, 6-0 and Carolyn Jesko suffered a 6-1, 6-0 loss at No. 6 in her first singles match of the spring.
Pitt won all three doubles matches by scores of 6-4, 6-3 and 6-4.
The Penguins (1-3) are back in action in Pittsburgh on Saturday as they take on Duquesne.
