
Madison Aranda Named Horizon League Swimmer of the Week

For the second straight week, a Youngstown State swimmer was honored as the Horizon League's Swimmer of the Week the league office announced on Tuesday.
This time, freshman Madison Aranda earned the honor after freshman Viktoria Orosz earned recognition following a strong performance last week.
Aranda helped lead the Penguins to a double-dual win over Cleveland State and Valparaiso in Cleveland.
Aranda swept her four events, collecting three individual victories in the meet. The freshman broke a 10-year-old school record in the 400 IM by .81 seconds and finished with a time of 4:33.01. In addition to her record-breaking performance, Aranda posted the second-fastest time in school history in the 200 butterfly finishing with a time of 2:06.75. Her third individual victory came in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:55.45 and she was also a member of winning 400 medley relay squad.
The Penguins return to action on Friday when they compete against Oakland and Ohio in Rochester, Mich.
