
Pair of Penguins Named Horizon League Athletes of the Week

Two newcomers to the Youngstown State swimming and diving teams had strong collegiate debuts against Niagara last Saturday and for their efforts, swimmer Viktoria Orosz and diver McKenzie Stelter were named Horizon League Athletes of the Week.
Orosz competed in her first collegiate meet for Youngstown State against Niagara and won four events. The freshman set the school record in the 200-freestyle in a time of 1:52.73 and recorded the second-fastest 500-freestyle in school history with a time of 5:04.92. Orosz was also a member of the winning 200-medley relay (1:49.43) and 200-freestyle relay (1:39.41) teams.
Stelter collected NCAA Zone qualifying marks in her first collegiate meet in both the one-meter and three-meter. She won the one-meter with a score of 268.05 and was victorious on the three-meter board with 288.01 points. The freshman won the one-meter by almost six points and the three-meter by 49.
The Penguins (1-0) have their first away dual meet of the season on Saturday at Cleveland State and Valparaiso.
