Anna Pompeo Breaks Long Standing School Mark in 10,000 Meters

Raleigh, N.C. - Late Friday evening at the Raleigh Relays, Youngstown State junior Anna Pompeo eclipsed a long-standing school record in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 35:25.96 at NC State's Paul Derr Track.
Pompeo's time bested the previous mark of 35:29.01 set by Laura Thomas on April 24, 1999. Thomas was an NCAA Championship qualifier for her performance that year.
In a talented field, Pompeo finished 14th in the event on Friday. Her previous best time was a 36:22.12 which she set last April.
