Stafford Wins One-Meter Event at Clarion Diving Invite

Clarion, Pa. - Youngstown State sophomore Bec Stafford won the one-meter competition and placed second in the three-meter event at the Clarion Diving Invitational held on Sunday at the Tippin Natatorium.
Stafford had a score of 280.20 in the one-meter to win by nearly 35 points over Clarion's Krissy Day. In the three-meter, Day posted a score of 290.65 to finish first while Stafford was second with a 267.70.
Freshman Megan Siford was fifth in the one-meter with a score of 218.45 and was 12th in the three-meter with a score of 207.20. Tricia Vallinger placed 13th in the three-meter with a score of 192.35.
Lydia Scherigner had a score of 229.00 in the three-meter and was 10th. She had a score of 185.95 in the one-meter dive. Bailey Dipman placed ninth in the one-meter with a score of 209.50 and 15th in the three meters 184.20.
The Penguins are back in action on Friday when they play host to Green Bay. The dual is set for 5 p.m. at the Beeghly Center Natatorium.
