Penguins Drop Dual Meet to UIC; Three Win Events

Chicago, Ill. - The Youngstown State swimming and diving team dropped a 187.5-112.5 decision to UIC on Friday at the Flames Natatorium.
Picking up wins for the Penguins were Samantha Roberts, Ashley Dow and Bec Stafford. Roberts led the way for YSU picking up wins in both breaststroke events.
Roberts won the 100-yard breaststroke clocking in at 1:07.82 and the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:26.53.
Dow won the 200-yard backstroke finishing with a time of 2:06.87 while tying for first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.59 seconds with UIC's Anne Jacobson. She beat Jacobson in the 200. Dow was also second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:13.17.
Stafford won the 3-meter event with a score of 233.25 while Casey Hill was third at 223.50.
Hill was second in the one-meter diving with a score of 225.45 while Stafford placed third at 211.80.
Laura Paz was second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.78 seconds.
The Penguins return to action on Saturday when they visit Green Bay.
