YSU Continues Fall Play at Cleveland State Invitational

Hinckley, Ohio -- The Youngstown State women's golf team finished sixth at the Cleveland State Invitational which wrapped up on Tuesday afternoon at the Pine Hills Golf Course.
In the team race, Bowling Green took first with a 630 while Cleveland State was second with a 633. Saint Francis (Pa.) was third, Chicago State placed fourth (639), Robert Morris was fifth (649), YSU sixth (650) and Niagara was seventh (667).
The Penguins improved four shots from Monday to Tuesday. YSU had a 327 in the first round and followed that with a 323 on the second day.
Leading the way for Youngstown State, was Aislynn Merling and Sarah Heimlich who each tied for ninth with a 160. Both golfers had identical scores of 79 and 81.
Freshman Emily Rohanna was 20th (164), Allison Mitzel finished 27th (166), Sana Khan was 31st (170), Angela Molaskey placed 38th (175) and Kayla Cerimele was 43rd. Rohanna carded a 78 on Tuesday, the low round for the Penguins at the event.
YSU returns to action at the Robert Morris Invitational on Oct. 8-9.
