Penguins Open Spring Campaign at Benbow Invitational

Jacksonville, Fla. -- The Youngstown State women's golf team placed eighth out of 14 teams at the Don Benbow Invitational hosted by Butler at the Jacksonville Beach Golf Club. YSU finished ahead of Horizon League schools - Cleveland State, UIC and Green Bay in the event.
In the two-round tournament, YSU carded a 663 with rounds of 336 and 327. Winning the tournament with a 614 was IUPUI.
The top individual finisher for the Penguins was Sarah Heimlich who tied for 21st place with a two-round score of 162 (78-84). Aislynn Merling tied for 25th place with a 164 (84-80), Allison Mitzel was 28th with a 165 (86-79), Angela Molaskey was 56th with a 175 (91-84) and Sana Khan finished 61st with a 177 (88-89).
The Penguins remain in Florida and will compete in the NIU Snowbird Invitational at Pebblecreek Golf Course in Tampa, Fla., starting on Thursday.
