
Penguins Drop 7-0 Decision to Akron

Akron, Ohio - The Youngstown State women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss at Akron on Sunday night at the LaTuchie Tennis Center.
Lauren Hankle dropped a hard-fought three-set match for the Penguins. Hankle dominated the first set against Olga Shkundina 6-1, before dropping the second set 6-1. The third-set tiebreaker was won by Shkundina 14-12.
At No. 1 singles, Marta Burak lost 7-6 (4), 6-4 to Zaruhi Harutyunyan, at No. 3 singles Carolyn Jesko dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision to Prang Pantusant, at No. 4 singles, Gimena Puppo lost 6-1, 6-1 to Angelina Jogasuria and at No. 5 singles Elli Stevens lost to Angelika Jogasuria.
In doubles action, the Zips won all three matches.
The Penguins return to action on Saturday when they play host to Niagara at the Boardman Tennis Center.
