YSU Finishes Third at RMU Colonial Classic; Rohanna Places Seventh

Hopewell Township, Pa. -- The Youngstown State women's golf team finished third out of five teams at the RMU Colonial Classic which concluded on Tuesday. Freshman Emily Rohanna was the top finisher placing seventh.
The Penguins carded a two-round total of 656 with scores of 328 and 328. Siena won the tournament with a score of 637 while Robert Morris was second at 656. Niagara was fourth with a 666 while Western finished fifth.
Rohanna had a solid final day on Tuesday. She fired a 79 to follow a first round 84 and finish with a 163 for the event. Siena's Jenna Rinker won the event in the playoff with a score of 154.
Two Penguins tied for ninth as Sarah Heimlich and Allison Mitzel each carded two-round totals of 164. Heimlich had rounds of 85 and 79 while Mitzel carded scores of 81 and 83. Sophomore Aislynn Merling was tied for second after the first round with a 78. She shot an 87 on Tuesday to finish with a 165 to place 11th.
Other finishers for YSU included Sana Khan who was 23rd with a 177 (90-87), Sarah Scheidemantal who placed 25th with a 179 (88-91) and Kelly Fleming who finished 28th with a 188.
The Penguins return to aciton next Monday and Tuesday when they compete in the MAC Invitational in Nashport, Ohio.
