Penguins Finish Ninth at Ball State Cardinal Classic

Muncie, Ind. -- The Youngstown State women's golf team placed ninth at the 10-team Ball State Cardinal Classic which concluded on Sunday at The Players Club in Muncie.
Southern Illinois placed first with a two-day total of 604 while Ball State was second with a 615. YSU had a two-round total of 653 carding rounds of 318 and 335. The Penguins were sixth after Saturday's first round.
Leading the way for the Penguins were Sarah Heimlich and Angela Molaskey who tied for 31st place. Heimlich and Molasky had identical rounds of 79 and 82 to finish with a 161.
Freshman Aislynn Merling tied for 35th a 162 following rounds 79 and 83. Freshman Allison Mitzel finished 55th with a 171 (81 and 90) while freshman Sana Kahn was 58th with carding a 173 (85 and 88).
The Penguins return to action on Sept. 26 at the Cleveland State Invitational.
