
Sadovnikova Ends Year With 18 Victories as Guins Fall to Detroit

Boardman -- Youngstown State sophomore women's tennis player Margarita Sadovnikova won her 18th match of the season, but the Penguins dropped a 6-1 dual to Detroit on Sunday at the Boardman Tennis Center.
Sadovnikova won her final match of the season 6-2, 6-1 over the Titans' Amanda Cornwell at No. 1 singles. The Penguins dropped the five other singles matches in straight sets.
In Horizon League action, the 2010 first-team All-League selection was 6-2 with losses to UIC and Milwaukee.
She ended the season on a six-match winning streak and won eight of her last nine match after March 27.
Detroit also won all three doubles matches and improves to 4-17 overall and 4-4 in the Horizon League. The win qualified the Titans for the HL Championships.
The Penguins finish the year 5-13 overall and 2-6 in the Horizon League.
