Penguins Pick Up Second Tournament Win of Season

Blairsville, Pa. -- The Youngstown State women's golf team won its second tournament of the season winning the Saint Francis (Pa.) Red Flash Spring Invitational at the par-72, 5,817-yard Tom's Run Golf Club at the Chestnut Ridge Resort and Conference Center on Sunday.
The Penguins carded a two-round total of 641 following rounds of 325 and 316. Robert Morris was second firing a 659 at the five-team event.
Leading the way for the Guins was senior Katie Rogner who took medalist honors with a two-round total of 152. After carding a 79 on Saturday which tied her for second place, Rogner fired an impressive 73 on Sunday to earn medalist honors.
Junior Samantha Formeck placed second carding a 154 firing back-to-back rounds of 77. Sarah Heimlich placed fourth with a 162 (79-83), Angela Molaskey was 16th with a 173 and Sarah Scheidemantel was 20th with a 180.
The Penguins, who won the Rober Morris Invite earlier this year, return to action on April 16 at the Bowling Green Invitational.
