Tariq Ismail Earns Win in Defeat to Bethune-Cookman

Daytona Beach, Fla. -- Youngstown State's Tariq Ismail picked up a straight sets singles win, but the men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 contest to Bethune-Cookman on Monday afternoon.
Ismail defeated the Wildcats' Marc Misanovic by a 6-4, 6-2 margin at No. 1.
At No. 2 singles, Felipe Rosa lost a hard-fought three set match to B-CU's Emil Vassilev 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Max Schmerin lost 6-1, 6-3 to Santiago Lobel at No. 3 singles, at No. 4, Zeeshan Ismail lost 7-5, 6-2 to Kristofer Martin while at No. 5, Rodrigo Campos suffered a 7-6, 6-2 setback to Kip Jackson. YSU defaulted at six singles.
In doubles play, the Guins lost 8-2 at No. 1 and dropped an 8-5 match at No. 2.
YSU returns to action on Tuesday with duals against Western Illinois and Northern Illinois.
