Men's Golf Finishes 12th at Jackrabbit Invitational

Primm, Nev. -- The Youngstown State men's golf team finished 12th at the Jackrabbit Invitational at the Primm Valley Golf Club Desert Course on Monday and Tuesday.
The Penguins shot rounds of 299 and 290 on Monday, then shot 303 in the final round on Tuesday for a total of 892. The 290 was the sixth-best total of the round.
Individually for YSU, Spenser Sulzner lowered his score every round to finish in a tie-for-28th at two-over par. The senior shot 75-73-70 for his 218 total, which was three strokes better than his closest teammate. He shot six-under par on par 5 holes and made 14 birdies for the tournament.
Anthony Conn shot 72-72-77 for a 43rd-place score of 221. Mark Olbrych shot 227 (75-75-77) to tie for 59th, and Joseph Santisi finished in a tie-for-63rd with a 228 (77-70-81). Michael Lower finished 75th with a score of 235 (78-78-79).
Missouri won the team competition with a three-round total of 827 behind a tournament-best score of 263 in the opening round. Idaho was one stroke back at 828.
Missouri had the top two individuals as well. Jace Long was the tournament champion with a three-round score of 199. His teammate, Stuart Ballingall, carded a 201 total and a tournament low of 62 in the opening round.
The Penguins will be back in action on March 28-29 at the Butler Spring Invitational in Avon, Ind.
