Hill, Vallinger Win Events at YSU Diving Invitational

Youngstown State sophomore Casey Hill won the three-meter dive and freshman Tricia Vallinger won the one-meter event at the Youngstown State Diving Invitational on Sunday at the Beeghly Natatorium.
Hill won the 3-meter with a score of 259.25 while Vallinger posted a season-high 246.15 to finish second. Senior Amanda Carpin was fourth with a 208.70 and sophomore Jacquline Smith was ninth with a 147.35.
Vallinger also posted a season-high mark in winning the one-meter with a score of 252.00. Hill finished third with a 236.25, Carpin placed fifth with a 219.20 and Smith finished sixth with a 199.50.
The Penguins are next in action at the 2011 Horizon League Championships which begin Wednesday, Feb. 23 in Cleveland.
