Casey Hill Wins 1-Meter Board in Double Dual

Youngstown -- Youngstown State junior diver Casey Hill won the 1-meter board and finished second in the 3-meter in the Penguins' double-dual against Cleveland State and Duquesne on Friday at the Beeghly Natatorium.
Cleveland State defeated both teams, beating YSU 140-97 and Duquesne 133.5 to 91.5. Duquesne knocked off the Penguins 141-96.
Hill and Cleveland State's Kacey Cummings, last year's Horizon League Diver of the Year, each had a first-place finish. Hill won 264.29 to 229.34 in the 1-meter, and Cummings took the 3-mter 259.80 to 257.33.
Diver Jaqueline Smith claimed third place on both boards, scoring 213.82 on the 1-meter and 203.33 on the 3-meter. YSU's Breanne Horrigan was fourth in the 1-meter and fifth in the 3-meter.
In the swimming events, Megan Ciampa had two runner-up finishes. The sophomore was second in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:47.87, and she was second in the 500 free with a time of 5:20.22.
Kirstin Walker had third-place finishes in the 200 free (1:59.45) and the 100 free (55.36). Audy Grubbs was fourth in both freestyle events. Ashley Dow was third in the 100 back with time of 1:01.27, and Samantha Roberts was fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.33.
Duquesne did not compete in the diving events.
YSU will compete at the three-day Radford Invitational starting Thursday.
