
Swimming & Diving Falls to Bowling Green, 174-119

Youngstown -- The Youngstown State swimming and diving team was defeated by Bowling Green on Friday evening at Beeghly Natatorium, 174-119.
Junior Nishani Cicilson, sophomore Sam Roberts and freshman Laura Paz finished first in the 50-yard freestyle (24.59), 200-yard breaststroke (2:24.76) and the 100-yard butterfly (59.71), respectively. Freshman Angela Diorio accompanied Roberts, finishing third in the 200 breast with a time of 2:38.80.
Freshman Megan Ciampa finished second in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:51.91. In the 200-yard freestyle, junior Kirstin Walker and Audy Grubbs took first and second, finishing with a time of 1:59.55 and 2:01.15. Diorio finished in third in the 100-yard backstroke. Senior Caitlin Cook and Roberts finished in second in the200-yard butterfly (2:11.11) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.31), respectively. Walker finished in second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.18.
Sophomore Casey Hill took first place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives with scores of 267.00 and 276.25. Tricia Vallinger finished in second in both events with scores of 226.70 and 236.20.
In the 400-yard medley relay, YSU finished third. The squad was comprised of freshman Claire Reynolds, sophomore Liseli Baich, Cook and senior Alana Kane.
This week, the Penguins are on the road at the Radford Invitational.
