When you are elected captain of your particular team, just for one season, it is a credit to your leadership capabilities, an honor that you cherish for the rest of your life. For Tom Bosse, the fact that he was the captain of the men's swimming team at YSU from the time he was a sophomore until the time he swam his final lap as a senior, what more needs to be said about this inductee. His swimming accomplishments as a Penguin might never be approached by another swimmer at YSU, and his five school records have stood since his graduation in 1980. A four year letter winner from 1977 to 1980, he became the first National Champion that YSU ever produced in swimming in NCAA/Division II when he captured the 400yd. individual medley in 1978. He has copped six Penn Ohio Conference events, three Mid Continent Conference events, was a 24 time Penn Ohio Conference All Conference team member, a 12 time Mid Continent Conference All Conference team member while capturing "Most Valuable Swimmer" honors twice; as a sophomore in 1978 and again as a senior in 1980. He is currently employed in medical sale for Genentech Inc in Cincinnati OH, selling Thrombolytic Therapy. Tom and his wife Jill reside in Cincinnati OH.
