Following his career at Youngstown State, he remained loyal to the area creating ms consultants in 1960.  ms consultants is  full-service engineering/architectural firm ranked annually by Engineering News Record among the top 500 E/A firms in the United States.

Under Mosure’s leadership, ms consultants grew to encompass more than 250 professionals in eight offices in five states.

In 1984, he was named the engineer of the year by the Mahoning Valley chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers.  He also earned the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Construction Industry Association and a Certificate of Appreciation from the National Professional Engineering Hall of Fame.

Mosure was an executive committee member and past president of the YSU Foundation Board of Trustees and promoter of Penguin Athletics; most important, an endowed scholarship is awarded to a deserving member of the Penguins football team annually, in his name.  The recipient of the award must exemplify Mr. Mosure’s athletic ability and commitment to academic excellence.

A member of the Canfield High School Hall of Fame, he was a strong supporter of academic, civil and philanthropic endeavors, Mosure was honored in 1989 with the YSU Penguin Club Outstanding Alumni Award.  In 1977, he was awarded the Alumni Involvement Award for his work with the YSU Alumni Association.  He also served on the University’s William Rayen School of Engineering Advisory Committee.

The Mosure Hall itself pays tribute to Mr. Mosure who passed away in August.  The hall is open on game days to highlight the history of the football program.  Photographers, memorabilia and trophies from every era of YSU football are on display at the hall.  Prominently displayed in the room is a portrait of Mr. Mosure with an inscription reading “This plague recognizes the generosity of family and friends of Thomas Mosure.”
