Over the years, Head Coach Dom Rosseli's basketball teams reflected the enthusiasm that he had for the game. The players that he recruited with the most enthusiasm, it seemed, were the guards for they fed the ball to men in the middle and the rest they say is history as you glance at the wins that the Penguins accumulated during the Rosselli years.

One of the Rosselli's prized recruits was a guard from Canton, OH, who continued the great tradition of back court play for the Penguins. His name is Terry Moore and what a find he was.

His basketball career on the scholastic level at Canton Lehman High School was well documented. As a sophomore, his squad captured the Ohio State Class "AA" State Championship. As a senior after going undefeated during the regular season (posting an 18-0 overall mark) and being ranked #1 in class AAA, they fell to cross town rival Canton McKinley in the district tournament.

For the penguins, he was a four-year letter winner and starting point guard (from 1973-74 to 1976-77), serving as the co-captain his junior and senior campaigns. Leading the Penguins to a 68-39 Overall mark for those four seasons, he still holds the mark for most assists in a game (20, against Georgia State on December 12, 1973), holds down the top three places for assists in a season (230 in 1974-75;200 in 1973-74 and 189 in 1975-76) and is the career leader in the same category with 619.

During his career with the Penguins, he was selected to two all-tournament teams of the YSU Holiday Classic, participated in two NCAA Division II post-season tournaments while earning Academic All-America honors both his junior and senior seasons.

His senior season, the penguins were 22-5 and ranked second in the final regular season division II poll while his teammate for three seasons, Jeff Covington, who was the benefactor of many a Moore assists, would become the 1977-78 Basketball News Division II National "Player of the year."

Moore graduated from YSU with a BA in Political Science (he had minors in Economics and Accounting) and a 3.45 cumulative grade point average. He obtained his law degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1980, returning to his hometown, Canton, OH, to enter private practice where he has been for the past 12 years. A partner/shareholder with the law firm Krugliak, Wilkins, Griffiths and Dougherty Co., L.P.A., his firm is compromised of approximately 32 lawyers. He has been a member of the firm's management committee and has a business or small corporate practice, being involved in the firm's business, banking and real estate section.

One of the driving forces behind the YSU Varsity "Y" Club (a Penguin Club level that only former Penguin athletes in any sport who have lettered maybe a member), he is a past president. Among his many other memberships, he is a past member of the YSU Alumni Association Board.

Married to the former Gail Watterson (also a graduate of Youngstown State University), they are the parents of three children; Erin, Abigail and Christopher.
