When you talk about football at YSU in the late 70's, the name Robby Robson is not only synonymous with the success of the football team, but his name seems to pop up every time you talk about great Penguin backs who have had a role in the success of their particular teams. He helped lead the Penguins to a 30-15-1 overall record, the 1978 NCAA/Division II semifinals as well as the championship game of the Zia Bowl in 1979. There isn't a lot of say that already hasn't been said about this durable and elusive back. He is still listed as the top man in eight spots of the rushing and scoring portion of the Penguin football record book as well as holding the top two spots and seven of the top 24 games of most carries by a Penguin back. His 1,489 yards in a single season and 3,639 for a career is still the record while scoring 156 points in a single season and 294 for a career is a standard that future backs at YSU will be judged. He currently is President/Owner of Pontococ Production Company Inc, owning and operating as well as drilling and producing oil properties in Oklahoma. Robby is married to the former Candy Hennen, and they reside in Ada, OK. They have twin daughters, Ashley and Amber.
