Career Notes:Scored 1,081 points while grabbing 560 rebounds and dishing out 83 assists…from the field made 416-of-786 attempts (52.9 percent) and from the free-throw line was 249-of-337 (73.9 percent).

1974-75 (Senior): Played in 27 games…scored 481 points, averaging 17.8 points per game…grabbed 169 rebounds, averaging 5.9 per contest…made 181-of-316 field-goal attempts (57.3 percent)…was 119-of-154 (77.3 percent) from the free-throw line…added 19 assists…scored in double figures on 24 occasions…had a career-high 29 points against Cleveland State while making 14 field goals…had 28 points against Georgia State making 11 field goals and six free throws on Senior Night…scored 27 points against Buffalo making 11 free throws and eight field goals…added a 25-point performance against Steubenville…scored 24 points on four occasions…made 11 field goals against Nebraska-Omaha…had 23 points against Gannon and 22 vs. Alliance…grabbed a high of 12 rebounds against Hillsdale.

1973-74 (Junior): Played in 25 games…scored 328 points, averaging 13.5 points per contest…grabbed 193 rebounds, an average of 7.8 per contest…from the field was 118-of-223 (52.9 percent)…from the free-throw line was 92-of-118 (79 percent)…dished out 37 assists…scored in double figures in 15 contests, including the final 11 of the season…had a season-best 26 points on two occasions…scored 26 points on eight field goals and was 8-of-9 from the FT line vs. Georgia State…against Pittsburgh had 26 points, with 12 field goals made…scored 23 points against Ashland making nine free throws and seven field goals…had 22 points against Cleveland State…grabbed a season-high 17 rebounds vs. Ashland.

1972-73 (Sophomore): Played in 23 games…scored 198 points, averaging nine points per contest…was second on the team in scoring…grabbed 135 rebounds, averaging 6.1 per contest…from the field made 88-of-184 attempts (47.8 percent)…also made 22 free throws…dished out 23 assists…scored double figures in 10 contests…had a season-high 20 points against Westminster…made 10 field goals against the Titans…had 16 points against Alliance…also added 15 points against Eastern Montana and Gannon…in the first game at Beeghly Center, scored 10 points against Ohio.

1971-72 (Freshman): Played in 18 games…scored 74 points and grabbed 63 rebounds…made 29-of-63 field-goal attempts (46 percent) and knocked down 16 free throws…had four assists…best game was an 18-point performance against Cleveland State…made eight field goals against the Vikings…also had nine points against Geneva and Cheyney State…played 13 games on the junior varsity.

Girard High School: As a senior, was an honorable-mention all-state selection in 1971…was a first-team All-Steel Valley pick.

Personal: Earned a degree from Youngstown State in History (Secondary Education)…is retired after working for the Power Plant as a Nuclear Contractor for Maintenance Modifications…has a son, Lt. Jacob Amon, who serves in the United State Marines…Phil resides in Girard.
