She was the first Penguin volleyball player ever to be a four-time Most Valuable Player and the first to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

During her senior season, Deibel was named one of the team's co-captains. In that same year, she was selected to the All-Tournament Team at West Virginia.

Deibel, as a junior, was also named co-captain. She earned All-Tournament Team honors at the Slippery Rock Invitational, the Morehead State University Tournament and the Mansfield Invitational.

She starred scholastically a Stow High School, where she was a two-time All-Metro League performer in volleyball and softball.

After graduation, with a degree in elementary education, Deibel went on to the University of Akron where she earned her master's degree in education. She is currently a seventh-grade teacher in the Barberton City School System.

She is married to Jim Markley. They have one son, Kyle, and the couple is expecting their second child in January.
