Kalyn Leveto’s ability to perform at a high level throughout her career made her one of the most decorated divers in the history of the YSU swimming and diving program.

A diver for the Penguins from 2001-05, Leveto was a four-time Horizon League individual event champion and a two-time Horizon League Diver of the Year. She also participated in the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships in three of her four years. In 2004-05 she was named YSU’s Female/Vindicator Athlete of the Year.

She ended her tenure with the Penguins as the school-record holder both one-meter dive categories (six and 11 dives) and just trailed only fellow Hall of Fame Diver Brandi Goettsch in the two three-meter dive scores. She still owns the school marks for the one-meter dive and ranks third in the three-meter more than 10 years following the conclusion of her career.

Only once in her eight career Horizon League Championship diving events did she place lower than fourth, and that was as a freshman.

In her final campaign in 2004-05, Leveto won the one-meter event at the conference meet after placing fourth in the three-meter competition. After placing fourth in the three-meter competition, she rebounded two days later to win the one-meter event by more than 25 points, setting a Horizon League record in the process with a score of 284.00. During her senior season she won an impressive 25 one or three-meter diving events at various meets.

In her final competition at the NCAA Zone C meet she placed 31st in the three-meter competition and 32nd in the one-meter event.

As a junior in 2003-04 she was named the Horizon League Diver of the Year after winning the three-meter competition and placing second in the one meter. She won the three-meter event with a score of 449.20 and came up short in the one meter with a score of 238.70, just three points out of first. For the year, she went undefeated on the three-meter board winning nine times while she also winning the one meter on seven occasions.

As a sophomore in 2002-03, she picked up her first Horizon League Diver of the Year Award after winning both the one meter and three meter events at the conference meet. In the one meter she had a score of 243.00 while in the three meter she had a score of 416.40.

During her freshman campaign she placed fourth in the three meter and was eighth in the one meter event at the Horizon League meet in 2002.

A native of Warren, she came to YSU after competing for Diving Coach Nick Galovas at Timberbrook Diving.

She graduated from YSU with a degree in Finance. Leveto is and Admissions Representative for the Bradford School in Columbus.

Kalyn and her husband, Ryan, have a young son, Aiden. The family lives in Delaware, Ohio.
