He and quarterback teammate Keith Snoddy will be elected this year on their first year of eligibility into the Penguin Athletics Hall of Fame, becoming only the third and fourth inductees accorded this honor on their first year of eligibility. Playing for head coach Bill Narduzzi's gridders from 1976 to 1979, he helped lead the Penguins to a 33-13-0 overall slate, and during his junior and senior seasons when they posted 10-2-0 and 11-2-0 records respectively, it still stands as the only two seasons in which a Penguin gridiron team has won ten or more games in a single season. In 1978, the team made it to the NCAA Division II runners up to the University of Delaware. He still holds five individual receiving records including most yards in a season (1,276), most yards in a career (3,103), touchdown receptions in a game (4), touchdown receptions in a season (13), touchdown catches in a career (25) while his nine receptions in a game (done twice in his career) ranks him third on the all time single game list.
