Dan Haude is the first YSU Division I-era men's tennis player to be inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame and is just third ever. He is the first enshrinee since 1992.

Bill Dunn and Gerald Thomas are the only other two men's tennis players in the YSU Athletics Hall of Fame.

For his career, Haude posted a phenomenal 60-12 record at No. 1 singles and added 40 doubles victories to give him 100 wins in his tennis career from 1988-92. Of his 40 doubles wins, 26 came during his final two campaigns. He led the Penguins to 27 dual match victories his final two years.

As a freshman in 1988, Haude won 18 matches at the No. 1 spot posting a 18-2 mark. He earned wins over such schools as Pittsburgh, Austin Peay, MTSU, Cleveland State, Toledo, Duquesne and Tennessee State. He picked up five doubles wins as well.

As a sophomore in 1989, Haude had a dream season winning all 15 of his singles matches in dual action. In doubles action, he teamed up with Brian Fry to win nine times.

During his 1990 junior campaign, he was 16-5 at No. 1 singles and picked up 12 more wins in doubles play. The Guins had an impressive campaign winning 12 duals. Haude had some of his victories in singles play over Bowling Green, Eastern Kentucky, Wright State, Pitt, Akron and Cleveland State.

In 1991, the Penguins posted an overall record of 15-5 in dual action, including a 14-3 performance in the spring. Haude was again a big part of the success, going 11-5 in singles action and adding 14 wins in doubles play. He picked up wins over Pitt (twice), Bowling Green, Duquesne, Robert Morris, Akron and Buffalo.

Impressively he served as a team captain all four years while playing in the top singles spot. He was a stellar student-athlete recording a 3.0 GPA or higher all four years and posted a cumulative 3.62 grade-point average. He also served as the Vice President for YSU's Student Government for two years.

He earned his degree in Psychology graduating Summa Cum Laude. He earned his master's in Counseling Psychology from the University of Akron in 1994 and received his Juris Doctor from Akron in 1997. He was the valedictorian of his graduating law class.

Haude is an attorney and partner with the Reminger Co. LPA in Cleveland. He serves as the chair of the products liability practice group. Recently, Haude was voted One of the Best Lawyers in the United States.

Prior to coming to YSU, he was a standout at North Canton Hoover High School where he posted a 77-1 career record. At North Canton he qualified for state his junior and senior years.

Dan and his wife, Kristi, have a young daughter, Brooke. The family resides in Avon Lake.
