He was never the head football coach of the Penguins, but Bob Dove's name always seems to be mentioned in the same breath when you speak of Penguin gridiron fortunes. The only man to serve as an assistant under all four Penguin head football coaches, he is directly responsible for the improved line play of the Penguins each and every season since his arrival in 1970 (he formerly was the head football coach at Hiram College). A former consensus All American at Notre Dame, he played and coached in the National Football League and has been a part of all four Penguin post season play off squads.
