An offensive tackle that had the reputation of being one of the most solid linemen to ever play for the Penguins, he played for Dwight "Dike" Beede from 1948-1950. Well respected by his teammates, he was even more respected, if not feared, by the opponents that lined up opposite him during a game. In 1950, he became one of only two football players (the other was Tony "Bull" Rosselli) to be named to the All-State football squad.
